Bicheno Attractions
Bicheno has a mild year long climate and is the perfect holiday place on the east coast of Tasmania.
In Bicheno you can choose to scuba dive in search of the elusive weedy sea dragon, or view the delights of our pristine waters in a glass bottom boat. And the fairy penguins provide an unforgetable parade at dusk.
There are also many walks to be enjoyed.
Right in the centre of town you can enjoy a 20 minute walk up to whaler's lookout and learn
about some of it's history, and at the same time enjoy the vast town and sea views.
Bicheno also offers attractions such as "The Blow Hole", Bicheno Aquarium, Bicheno Gallery,
East Coast Nature World, Freycinet Air for scenic flights, Le Frog Trike Rides, fishing
tours, tennis, swimming, golf, surfing, snorkeling, hiking, lawn bowls, sea-kayaking,
abseiling, rockclimbing, mountain biking, 4WD tours and a Motocycle Museum.
Bicheno Aquarium
Douglas Apsley provides great walks/hiking.
The Freycinet Peninsular a little south offers spectacular walks/hiking and beaches including
the famous wine glass bay.
Or perhaps you would prefer to visit the local wineries. Apsley Gorge, Coombend, Freycinet, Bishop's Rock, Craigie Knowe and Spring Vale wineries are all close to Bicheno and offer you their local award winning wines. There are also local cheeses, fresh crayfish or scallops to enjoy.
